How Can We Help You

Frequency Asked Question

Find clear answers about our process-serving services, timelines, updates, and final documentation.

What is service of process?

Service of process is the formal delivery of legal documents to notify an individual or business of a court action or
legal proceeding.

Who can legally serve court documents?

Requirements vary by state and case type. Generally, documents must be served by an eligible adult who is not a
party to the case. A professional process server helps ensure service is completed and documented correctly.

What happens if the person refuses to accept the papers?

Refusing to physically take the documents does not necessarily prevent service. Depending on applicable law, a
server may be able to identify the individual, clearly announce the nature of the documents, and leave them in the
person's presence.

What is substitute service?

When personal service cannot be completed, certain documents may qualify for substitute service on another
eligible person at the residence or through another method permitted by applicable law.

What happens after the documents are served?

After successful service, we prepare the appropriate Proof or Affidavit of Service documenting when, where, how,
and upon whom service was completed. Filing assistance may also be available when included with the
assignment.

How many attempts do you make?

Our Routine service includes up to four attempts. Attempt frequency depends on the service level selected, and
attempts are made at appropriate times to improve the likelihood of successful service.

How quickly will you make the first attempt?

Routine: within 3 days. Expedited: within 2 days. Rush: next day. Same-Day: within 4 hours. Same-Day
assignments are targeted for completion within 24–48 hours.

How will I know when an attempt has been made?

We document field activity and keep clients informed throughout the assignment. Our service documentation can
include attempt details, GPS information, photographs, and other relevant field notes.

Do you use body cameras and GPS verification?

Yes. We use technology to strengthen documentation and accountability. GPS and photo verification may be used
during attempts, and body-camera footage is available for the successful serve when used.

What if I don't know where the person lives?

Contact us before submitting the assignment. Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to assist with skip
tracing, address research, or other locate services before service begins.
